If you have missing teeth you can replace them and restore both the function and the appearance of your teeth with dental implants. The procedure attaches a titanium framework to the jawbone; once it is installed it is ready to carry permanent replacement teeth. It sounds complex, and it is, which is why it is planned carefully before anything is placed.
A titanium foundation inserted surgically into the jawbone. Once in place it can support a crown, a bridge or a denture and hold it steady. The number of implants needed depends on the case. We use CBCT imaging to work out how to support the new teeth with the smallest number of implants that will do it, which is usually fewer than patients expect.
Four strategically placed implants can support an entire upper or lower row of replacement teeth. Like endosteal implants they are inserted into the jawbone to give exceptional support. Because of their simplicity, performance and natural feel, All‑on‑4 is considered one of the best implant options available, and in many cases you go home with a full set of teeth on the day of surgery.
Implants are surgery and restoration in one case, and the restoration is what you live with. Dr. Kabcenell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, the specialty that plans and builds tooth replacement, so the bite the implants have to survive is settled before they go in rather than after.
