Veneers at Rye Dental Associates in Rye, New York.

Veneers

Thin, tooth-coloured shells bonded to the front of a tooth. Four kinds, and the right one depends on how much of your own tooth you want to keep.

A veneer is a thin shell bonded to the front of a tooth, covering a discoloured or chipped one. It is one of the most commonly used cosmetic procedures in dentistry, and one of the easiest to do badly, which is why the material and the preparation matter more than the marketing.

What veneers correct

  • Adjusting tooth colour
  • Correcting crooked or misshapen teeth
  • Restoring chipped or damaged teeth
  • Adjusting the size of teeth
  • Reducing noticeable gaps between teeth

The four kinds we offer

Traditional porcelain

Porcelain is our main material for its adaptability and translucency, and because it holds the natural appearance of a tooth. It also resists staining well.

EMAX

Made from a single block of lithium disilicate ceramic, EMAX veneers are very durable and lifelike. This is the option for patients who want durability that ordinary veneer types cannot match.

No-prep

For patients who do not want to permanently alter their natural teeth. As the name says, they need little or no preparation, and can often be finished in a single session.

Composite

Also called resin or same-day veneers. They last five to seven years and can be completed in a single visit, which makes them a reasonable way to try the idea before committing to porcelain.

Because our laboratory is in the building, shade and contour are settled with a technician who can look at the work in the room it was made for.

Seventy years on Cedar Street, and still taking new patients.
